Pictures below taken in Sasebo, Japan, Dec. 6 - 11, 1968 show the USS Hancock in "Dry Dock".  The Hancock had suffered damage to the number three (3) starboard aircraft elevator, from an "at sea" collision with the supply ship USS Camden on Nov. 26, 1968 during an attempted underway replenishment.  However, damage was too severe and flight operations too busy to have time for the elevator fix.  Thus, USS Hancock was in drydock instead to replace or repair the screws of the ship!
