Comments: Great photo album!
We are in Jacksonville, FL. Our 18
year old son left
tonight for NAS Lemoore. He is a Master at Arms.
Seeing your pictures of Nas Lemoore means a lot to us. We also like
to camp and fish and want to go to Pine Flat Lake and other places
in the area. Thanks for your web site and sharing your pictures, it
makes us feel closer to our son. We can't wait to visit him! Any
advice for visiting there? Hope to hear from you. Chris and Effie

Comments: I was a member(grunt)
of Bravo Co., 1st Bat. 3rd
Marines, 3d Marine Div.
1958. We lived in a small tent camp, on the
beach,
just south of Subic Bay, can't remember the names. At the
time we worked what was called tropical hours, off at 1pm. However,
liberty was another thing, and we had to be back at camp by 1130PM.
Never any overnighters. We were their for approx 4 months and than
boarded ship and were sent to Taipai, never to return. Olongapo and
it's people always bring back fond memories and was one of favorite
duty assignments. I'll never forget the handmade bathing suits, with
unit insigia's, the women use to make for us.

Comments: Just a quick note
to say I enjoyed photos. I served
aboard the USS
Pollux (AKS-4) from April 1961 to March or 1964. Was
home ported in Yokosuka and ran between there and Subic every 3
months or so. Was surprised you had no pictures of Hong Kong. We
also saw Formosa, White Beach, Okinawa, and got to Korea for a
training exersice once.
Met a Navy Brat at theEM Club
in Yokohoma, married her 5 months
later. Still happily
married . That is the 62 in our E-mail address.
Wedding
day Sept. 8, 1962.
Cheers and thank you

Comments: Can you tell
me if the gal named Priscilla Ryes had a
room at
the Boston Hotel back in 1967? I think she might be the gal
I was seeing there at the time. It was a long time ago and I don't
remember her last name if I was even told. It lookes like her but I
can't be sure from 36 years ago. She was there for me when my ship
was in port.

Your pictures brought back memories. I was with

Cooling duties, and on the Hancock I made rate to AE-3. After VA-163
was disbanded I got orders to VA-216 on the Forristal and went to
the Med. I was discharged from the Navy in july 1970.
